CHARITY FUNDRAISING FOR KIDNEY PATIENTS

WHO ARE WE?

My name is Erica and my boyfriend’s name is Paul. We do not represent any government institution or any foundation. It’s just the two of us. 

Paul, 22 years old was diagnosed with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in 2012. He underwent dialysis treatments thrice a week for four years. He had early hopes of having a kidney transplant but didn’t have enough money to pursue it. 

I saw his family already struggling to pay for his medications that’s when I realized that his dream transplant has not really been a priority. It was really devastating for me to witness his sufferings. The picture of him with this lifetime disease never failed to give me so much pain.

I  cannot do anything but cry to God. We cried for help. We seek Him day and night. We were knocking on His door everyday.. And finally, one day, after all the sleepless nights, He opened the door for us and let us in. We felt His grace. The Holy Spirit was filling our hearts and souls with overflowing love and hope. The fulfillment of His promises has come. 

August 2015, Sunday. I wasn’t really listening to what our pastor was preaching. I cannot hear anything around me. I was silently crying. My heart was pleading to God to grant the long time desire of my heart. My soul was crying out loud, begging God to save Paul, to give him another chance..

“Please save him, Lord God. My Father, please give him another chance. Please save him, Lord God. I’m begging you please.. please..  My Father, hear my prayers. “

I cannot open my eyes as they were filled with tears.. Until I heard the voice of our pastor in the middle of my plead. He was shouting very very loud..

"I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME..  I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME..  You can do all things..  
We can do all thingsss.. "

As I opened my eyes, Paul wiped away my tears. I grabbed his hand and look at him as if God has already answered our prayers. After the service I excitedly went home..

SAVE A LIFE PROJECT 

We immediately made a draft for a fundraising project. We came up with a Tshirt For A Cause.  Yes, Tshirt! This I think was God’s answer to our prayers. I contacted an old colleague, Patrick Loyola to collaborate with me regarding the lay out and initial printing. 

 With little money for start up, huge determination and soaring faith to God, the rest was history. 

ANSWERED PRAYER

Paul’s successful kidney transplant was held June 29, 2016. 

All glory to our Heavenly Father!

Five months after  his operation.

We have experienced God’s overflowing blessings so we would like to share it with you. We do not have money to give but we have time and heart to help those in need.

GETTING STARTED 

• Attend NKTI's Pre-Transplant Orientation together with your possible donor.
• Get a referral from your nephrologist and talk to an NKTI social service representative regarding your plan for kidney transplant.
• Get the updated list of requirements from social service representative.
